In West Zealand, there is pressure on Denmark’s fourth-largest lake, Tissø, which is intensively used to supply process water to various industries in Kalundborg.
To ensure that the industry can continue to get the water that it needs, and that this can be done as sustainably as possible, COWI is looking into how the future collection of surface water can be optimised.
The main aim is to support the application from Kalundborg Forsyning for increased production and better water quality in the future. It should also increase the knowledge of surface water collection.
The local geological, hydrogeological and hydrological conditions in the area will be investigated by using advanced geophysical tests and water quality measurements, and the results will be used to propose several alternative and more sustainable water collection strategies.
